Teaneck Firm To Battle MSG After Lawyer Banned From Rockettes: Report
Facial recognition technology tipped off the venue to the presence of an attorney at Radio City Music Hall, multiple outlets report.

TEANECK, NJ — A Teaneck law firm is challenging Madison Square Garden's liquor license after the company turned away one of its associates from a Rockettes show at Radio City Music Hall, the Daily Record reports.
According to the outlet, the woman—who was at the show the weekend after Thanksgiving as a chaperone for her daughter's Girl Scout troop—was banned from attending after facial recognition technology tipped the venue off to her association with Davis, Saperstein & Salomon P.C., which is currently battling a restaurant under the umbrella of Madison Square Garden in court.
The woman is an attorney certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney and is a Senior Associate at Davis, Saperstein & Salomon P.C., according to the firm's website.

“MSG instituted a straightforward policy that precludes attorneys pursuing active litigation against the Company from attending events at our venues until that litigation has been resolved," a spokesperson told CNBC.
"While we understand this policy is disappointing to some, we cannot ignore the fact that litigation creates an inherently adverse environment. All impacted attorneys were notified of the policy, including Davis, Saperstein and Salomon, which was notified twice."

According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, facial recognition uses computer-generated filters to transform face images into numerical expressions that can be compared to determine their similarity.
The ethics of facial recognition has often been questioned since the technologies are employed by a wide range of organizations without consent or the knowledge of those who are under surveillance.
