Teaneck Library Expands Reopening: What To Know
Building access is still limited, but as of Monday the Teaneck Public Library has expanded offerings.

TEANECK, NJ — The Teaneck Public Library is reopening at its own pace, and Monday marks another step forward.
"I'm happy to share several major service announcements that will take effect Monday, July 20," wrote Library Director Allen McGinley in a July 17 update.
This update brings expanded hours to contactless, doorside pickup, the reinstitution of hold requests from other libraries and hold request pickups at the front desk.

The latter, front desk access, represents the furthest step toward normalcy, but stops literally and figuratively there.
We are happy to offer expanded hours for contactless doorside pickup and front desk pickup of holds beginning Monday, July 20. For complete details, please visit: https://t.co/neierIqgDK pic.twitter.com/JthP36zHWF

Building access will still be limited, writes McGinley, and returns will still be deposited in the outside books returns. Fines and fees will also be taken care of outside the library, and should be paid online.

For those that do utilize front desk services, the library has offered these safety measures:
- Persons over the age of two must wear a face covering that completely covers the mouth and nose.
- Maintain a distance of 6-feet from all persons outside your family.
- Only one person or family at a time is permitted at the front desk. If there is someone ahead of you, please wait outside the building on the socially distanced marked lines.
- Anyone who has a fever, cough, chills or is otherwise not feeling well or who are self-quarantining should not visit the library.
"Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue to plan and execute a phased reopening of the library that prioritizes the health and safety of the entire community," writes McGinley.
"We have installed plexiglass health shields at all of our service points, and are in the process of implementing additional safety measures so that we may give you increased access to the library building in the very near future."
