Teaneck Library Screening ‘Two Prosecutors’: How To Watch

TEANECK, NJ — Teaneck residents looking for something to watch this weekend can head to the library, where another Sunday afternoon movie is coming to the big screen.

The Teaneck Public Library will screen “Two Prosecutors,” also listed under its German title, “Zwei Staatsanwälte,” on Sunday. The movie begins at 2 p.m. in the Teaneck Library auditorium, 840 Teaneck Road, according to the library’s current adult programs schedule.

According to Janus Films, “Two Prosecutors” follows an idealistic state lawyer who receives a blood-written note smuggled from prison and pushes past wary authorities to interview an elderly Bolshevik. The young attorney sets out to expose the miscarriages of justice behind the man’s imprisonment, only to find the state turning its attention toward his own investigation.

Set during the Great Purge under Stalin, distributor Janus Films describes Sergei Loznitsa’s film as a “Kafkaesque thriller” as pressure closes in around the lawyer and his investigation.

The screening is part of the library’s Friends Sunday Movies series, which features movies at 2 p.m. Residents interested in catching the film do not require registration.
