Teaneck Man Owing $79,000 In Tolls Caught At GWB: Police

TEANECK, N.J. — A township man who owes more than $79,000 in tolls and fees for more than 1,200 violations was caught at the George Washington Bridge Tuesday, authorities said.

Jerome Daly, 58, owes $16,423 in tolls and $63,000 in fees for 1,260 known violations. He and six others were caught during a crackdown of toll violators from 4 to 8:15 a.m. at the bridge, Port Authority police said. He was charged with a third-degree offense.

Six others were caught during the crackdown, said Joseph Pentangelo, a Port Authority spokesman.

  • Aleksanda Kotevski, 58, of Garfield, a driver with Bucephal USA LLC. The company owes $61,623 ($26,973 in tolls and $34,650 in fees). This covers 694 known violations. Kotevski was charged with a disorderly persons offense.
  • Catherine Alicea, 25, owes $22,959 ($4,959 in tolls and $18,000 in fees) for 360 known violations. She was charged with a third-degree crime.
  • Carlos Acosta, 34, a driver with Krenz Express LLC. The company owes $2,727 in tolls and $1,400 in fees covering 28 known violations. The tractor-trailer Acosta was driving had a defaced license plate.
  • Loida Cruz, 30, of Ridgefield Park, owes $11,316 ($2,566 in tolls and $8,850 in fees) for 185 known violations. She was charged with a disorderly persons offense.
  • Richard Ferdinand, 51, owes $27,715, including $6,015 in tolls and $21,700 in fees for 436 known violations. He will be issued a disorderly persons offense and third-degree charges via a criminal complaint.
  • Henry Tantillo, 52, of Elmwood Park, was caught driving a motorcycle with a flipped-over license plate. He owes $302 in tolls and fees for five known violations. He was charged with a disorderly persons offense.
