Teaneck Opens Charging Station As Thousands Still Without Power
The Richard Rodda Center can be utilized as a charging station on Wednesday, the township announced. Nearly 7,000 are still without power.
TEANECK, NJ — The township will open a charging center beginning at noon today as nearly 7,000 residents are still without power.
The Richard Rodda Center will be open today from 12 to 8 p.m., and will also be available for residents Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
PSE&G reports 6,869 residents still without power as of 11:15 a.m. They say it could take days to restore service, but have called for additional help in an attempt to expedite the process.

"Tropical Storm Isaias has caused power outages and we are responding safely and as quickly as possible. Additional personnel from out of state utilities are assisting our own crews," read the statement.
The company requested 1,700 additional workers from Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nova Scotia, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

For those in search of a place with power, here are the rules for the Richard Rodda Center charging station, located at 250 Colonial Ct.:
- 1-hour limit per resident
- Masks must be worn at all times
- Temperature checks will be done at the door
- Social distancing protocols must be followed
- Up to 10 people are allowed per room
- No children allowed
