Teaneck Police Find 9 Pounds Of Marijuana, $5,100 During Traffic Stop

Jason A. Hunter, 37, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana as a result of an investigation, police said.

TEANECK, N.J. — A man was arrested and charged after police found more than 9 pounds of marijuana and $5,100 following traffic stop, police said.

Detectives from the police department's narcotics and burglary squads conducted a narcotics investigation that led to a traffic stop Nov. 23, said Acting Police Chief Glenn M. O'Reilly.

During the stop, police discovered Jason A. Hunter, 37, of Hackensack, in possession of about 9-and-half-pounds of suspected marijuana and $5,160 in cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, O'Reilly said.

Hunter was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 500 feet of a park, O'Reilly said.

Hunter was released after posting $20,000 bail, police said.

Police arrested Hunter Oct. 27 after another motor vehicle stop after he was found in possession of about 1-and-a-half ounces of suspected marijuana and $1,841 in cash, also believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, the acting chief said.
