TEANECK, N.J. -- The superintendent of Teaneck Public Schools will retire in the coming weeks. In a letter to the school community, Barbara Pinsak announced she will retire effective Sept. 1.
"A good friend once told me that one usually knows when it is time to move on, and although I couldn’t have imagined ever being ready, I have come to the point that it is time for me," Pinsak said in the letter.
She said she has been "so fortunate" during her time in Teaneck, where students are "sophisticated, resourceful and giving" and the parents are "supportive" and "collaborative." She said the teachers in the district are some of the "finest educators I've ever known."
