During the stop, Lynch determined that the car insurance was invalid and found a stolen New Jersey license plate.

A search of the Jeep uncovered 198 checks made out to various people — totaling $122,439.15 — that were believed to be stolen, police said.

Police also found embroidered USPS jackets, sweatshirts, hats, and postal carrier bags, which they also believe were stolen, they said.

They also found 100 prescription drugs that were not prescribed to Lemite, a credit card with someone else's name, and burglary tools, including screwdrivers, a Sawzall blade, and gloves.

After he was arrested, Lemite refused to be fingerprinted, police said.

Then, he "engaged in acts of criminal mischief, including attempting to clog a holding cell toilet with clothing and urinating on the cell floor and walls," police said.

Lemite was also charged with money laundering, criminal attempt, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief, police said.

Lemite was taken to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court, police said.
