Teaneck Woman Charged In Pipe Attack Over Parking Space At Garden State Plaza

Kenia E. Nicolas-King, 48, allegedly hit an 18-year-old in the head with a metal pipe after she took her parking space, police said.

A 48-year-old Teaneck woman hit a teenager in the head with a 15-inch metal pipe during a fight over a parking space at the Garden State Plaza Saturday, Paramus police said.

Kenia E. Nicolas-King was charged with aggravated assault. She was allegedly waiting for a spot in the parking garage under the AMC movie theater at about 5:30 p.m. when the 18-year-old Paterson woman, whose name was not released, pulled in and stole the spot, said Paramus Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti.

The women got out of their vehicles and began arguing and Nicolas-King got a 15-inch long metal pipe out of her vehicle and hit the woman in the back of the head with it, Guidelli said.

The teenager fell to the ground and the women wrestled, the deputy chief said. The woman punched Nicolas-King was, who went back into her car and fled.

Nicolas-King did not get far because of mall traffic and Officer Nicholas Luciano stopped her car, Guidelli said. She told Luciano that she threw the pipe out the window, Guidetti said, who said that it was later found.

The teenager refused medical attention.

Nicolas-King is scheduled to appear in Paramus Municipal Court Jan. 1.
