2 Students Make Unfounded Threats To Toms River School: Police
Police said the Toms River Intermediate East students made separate threats against the school but had no plans to follow through with them.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Two Toms River Intermediate East students made threats against the school this week, but police said there was no indication they planned to follow through.
Toms River police on Thursday afternoon did not give details on the threats but said they were separate incidents.
"Appropriate administration action by the Toms River Regional School District was taken," the statement from police said.

"Both incidents have been thoroughly investigated by our police department and there are no indications of the students intending to follow through with the threats," the statement said.
"We would like to commend the students who saw something, and said something," police said. "Bringing any information to authorities when you are concerned is always the right thing to do. We are very proud of the students who came forward."

The threats did not appear to have any connection to the situation where a student posted a complaint on social media about a classroom lesson on slavery. Dozens of students and parents spoke out after the complaint reached media outlets, defending the teacher and saying the allegations were false.
