$33K, 202 Grams Of Cocaine Seized In Toms River Drug Probe

Toms River police pulled over two men following surveillance and found the cash and cocaine during the search, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Two men were arrested on drug charges and nearly $34,000 in cash along with 200 grams of cocaine were seized following an investigation by Toms River police on Tuesday.

Jameer Jones, 26, of Toms River, and Gregory Deas, 47, of Asbury Park, were arrested following a pair of motor vehicle stops that happened after the Toms River Police Department's Special Enforcement Team saw suspicious activity while conducting surveillance in the east end of the township, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the department.

Jones was found to be in possession of approximately 202 grams of cocaine and packaging material, Messina said.

Deas, who was stopped separately but in connection with the stop of Jones, was found to be in possession of $33,703 in cash, she said.

Jones was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over 5 ounces with the intent to distribute (first degree) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deas was charged with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and distribution of over 5 ounces of cocaine, Messina said.

Members from the department Patrol Division and K-9 Unit assisted the Special Enforcement Team with the investigation.
