TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities seized more than 35 bricks of heroin, cocaine and a pair of handguns and arrested three people in three investigations by the Toms River Police Department's Special Enforcement Team, police said Wednesday.

In total the SET team seized more than 1,760 waxfolds of heroin, more than 5 grams of cocaine, a 9mm handgun with hollow point bullets, a .40-caliber handgun, and about $9,500, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

William Needham, 34, of Manchester; Daniel Dornbierer, 42, of Forked River, and Ricky Galloway, 60, of Lakewood, were arrested; all three were taken to the Ocean County Jail, where they remained Wednesday pending court hearings.

Needham was arrested Aug. 3 following a monthlong investigation into heroin distribution in Toms River and Manchester, Messina said. Police pulled over his Ford F-350 pickup and searched it, seizing 17 bricks — 850 wax folds — and $1,876 in cash.

He was charged with possession of heroin and second-degree possession with the intent to distribute heroin, and Needham's Ford F-350 was seized pending forfeiture, Messina said.

On Aug. 4, Dornbierer was arrested after SET team members and the Toms River Police Department K-9 Unit found 10 wax folds of heroin and a Polymer 80 9mm handgun with hollow point bullets in his vehicle during a motor vehicle stop, Messina said. The handgun did not have serial numbers and was untraceable, she said. Dornbierer was charged with possession of heroin and several weapons offenses.

Galloway was arrested Aug. 7 after a monthlong investigation, Messina said. He was pulled over and a search of his vehicle led to the seizure of 250 wax folds of heroin and a small quantity of cocaine, plus cash and a Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun. In addition, authorities searched his home and found 650 wax folds of heroin and more cash. Messina said in total 18 bricks (900 wax folds) of heroin, 5 grams of cocaine, $7,608 and the handgun were seized.

Galloway was charged with several narcotics and weapons offenses, including second-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and possession of a handgun during a narcotics offense.

The Manchester Township Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Strike Force assisted with the arrest of Needham, Messina said.
