5 Candidates Seek Seats On Toms River School Board

Three seats are up for election for the Toms River Regional Board of Education; 2 current members are not seeking re-election.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Regional Board of Education will have at least two new members in 2024, as two current board members are not seeking re-election in November.

Five people filed candidate petitions by Monday's 4 p.m. deadline to run for the three seats that are up for election, according to the Ocean County Clerk's office. The terms are three years, and the school board position does not pay a salary.

Of the three board members whose seats are up for election, only Ashley Lamb has filed to seek re-election. Michele Williams is seeking election to the Toms River Township Council and cannot seek the school board seat at the same time.
