ALS Fundraising Walk Saturday In Seaside Heights

The walk supports the Greater Philadelphia chapter, which says it serves central and south Jersey.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — Hundreds of marchers are expected to gather in Seaside Heights on Saturday for the 2018 Seaside Heights Walk to Defeat ALS.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known , is a devastating neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe.

The money raised during the walk will support the ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter in its work to fund ALS research, provide local care and services to those impacted by ALS, and help lobby for policies "that promote ways to better manage, and eventually end, this fatal disease," the group said in a news release.
