The filming of “Amityville Horror” in the late 1970s was a horror show for audiences and Toms River residents.
Ultimately, the township adopted one of the most restrictive filming ordinances in New Jersey after filming took place at 18 Brooks Road in Toms River, according to the Asbury Park Press.
In 2012, the Township Council adopted a new ordinance to prevent Snooki and JWoww from filming a reality show spinoff of “Jersey Shore” in Toms River, according to the APP.
