Diners will soon be able to drift away to a Caribbean escape – without ever leaving the Jersey Shore – when they step inside the new Bahama Breeze Island Grille coming to Simon’s Ocean County Mall.
The 8,000-square-foot, sit-down restaurant is expected to open this summer. It will be located in the mall’s outer parking lot along Hooper Avenue near Bay Avenue.
Bahama Breeze is owned by Darden Restaurants, whose other brands include Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, Eddie V’s and Yard House. The first Bahama Breeze opened in 1996 in Orlando, Fla., and today has 24 locations throughout the United States.

Ocean County Mall’s new dine-in spot will join longtime favorite Applebee’s and a 6,400-square-foot Ichiban Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi restaurant, which is set to open this spring near Sears.
“We are excited to add Bahama Breeze to our roster of more than 120 specialty retailers,” said Tara Melodick, Ocean County Mall’s director of marketing and business development. “Its arrival is the latest move in our ongoing efforts to offer new dining concepts and expanded dining options to our shoppers in the Toms River area and visitors from all along the Jersey Shore. We think they’ll love its warm atmosphere and great food.”

The menu features seafood, poultry and beef dishes prepared with the flavorful and colorful ingredients of the islands, including jerk chicken pasta, chicken kabobs, coconut shrimp, baby back ribs and seafood paella. The beverage selection offers a variety of hand-crafted tropical drinks, wine, domestic and imported beers and soft drinks. Mouth-watering dessert offerings include Key Lime Pie, Dulce de Leche Cheesecake, Piña Colada Bread Pudding and Warm Chocolate Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. There’s also a special menu for kids.
