John E. "Jack" McGrath, of Toms River, passed away on February 16, at home, stated Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals.
John served in European Theatre during WWII. He was a POW to the Nazis after being captured in battle. He received a purple heart for wounds received during battle. He graduated from East Catholic High School in Philadelphia, and lived with his brother in Toms River.
