Beach And Surf Report: August 10, 2015

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies this morning, with clouds moving in around 1 pm. Expect a high in the upper 70s.

Beach winds will be from the southeast at five to 10 miles per hour. Waves will be around three feet, with east swells of three feet. The surf temperature is 75 degrees.

There’s a moderate risk of rip currents, which means wind or wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Bring a flotation device with you and only swim in guarded areas.

The UVI index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. The lightning threat is low, which means there is little threat of lightning.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet will occur at 11:09 a.m. High tide will happen at 5:23 p.m.
