Beer, Pizza And Crafts: Help South Toms River Girl With Brain Tumor
A fundraiser in downtown Toms River aims to help the family of Sophia Colavito, who has been battling cancer for more than 2 years.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Make a craft, drink some beer and eat pizza, and help the family of a South Toms River girl who is fighting a brain tumor.
Craft & Carry Custom of Toms River, which produces handmade custom-crafted items covering a wide range of designs and needs, is holding a Craft and Carry fundraiser to support the family of Sophia Colavito, the South Toms River girl who has been fighting optic glioma — a tumor on her optic nerve — since February 2020.
The fundraiser aims to help with some of the medical expenses the family has faced over the course of Sophia's treatment, which includes frequent trips to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. You can follow her journey on the Facebook page Fight With Fi.

The craft night is set for 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 at Battle River Brewing, Main Street, Toms River. Tickets are $65 and include a two-hour DIY class and you can take home your art afterward, two beers and discounted refills from Battle River Brewing, and a pizza station from Capone's Gourmet Pizza.
A portion of the ticket sales is being donated to the Colavito family. Tickets can be purchased online on Torres's Linktree under DIY Craft Nights At Battle River Brewing.
There also is a GoFundMe campaign to assist the family with Sophia's medical expenses.
