Description: Join Coastline Adventures and Toms River Recreation for week-long camp for beginner and intermediate level bodyboarders/boogie boarders. Learn and practice ocean awareness and techniques includes both on land and water-based lessons and progressive skill building. Boarders will learn about wave and weather reports, beach and ocean conditions and related safety protocols, board handling and etiquette, wave selection and riding techniques, environmental and conservation tips, interactive games, and more!!!
Requirements: Participants MUST know how to swim.
Equipment: Bodyboard, leash, and rash guards are provided for use during class. Participants may bring their own equipment, rash guards or wetsuits. Beach badges are NOT required to attend class or for guardians to watch class but are required if participants or guardians plan on staying after class ends. Participants should bring their own sunscreen, towel, drinks, snacks and footwear.
Coastline Adventures Surfing School is accredited by the National Surf/SUP Schools and Instructors Association and brings over 30 years of professional experience providing safe, high-quality surf, bodyboard, and stand-up paddleboard instruction throughout the Jersey Shore. Led by Lance Tompkins and Jennifer Steffener, both NSSIA Certified Master Level Surf Instructors, the school combines nationally recognized training standards with deep local knowledge of Ocean County beaches, bays, tides, and weather conditions. Lance brings over 50 years of surfing experience and decades of teaching board sports, while Jennifer contributes over 30 years of surfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding, wellness, and movement instruction experience.
