TOMS RIVER, NJ — Students who attend classes through the Kean at Ocean partnership at Ocean County College will have their classes online starting Monday, as the coronavirus continues to spread, Kean University announced Wednesday.

The North Jersey college, which has a partnership with Ocean County College, announced its decision for all of its campuses, with on-campus instruction scheduled to resume on March 30.

Ocean County College President Jon Larson announced later Wednesday that the community college will follow suit, and move its instruction online through March 29.

"The health and safety of our students and employees is paramount," officials said Monday in a statement posted on the college's website. "Out of an abundance of caution, if you or someone close to you is not feeling well or experiencing any type of cold or flu symptoms, please stay home. Students should work individually with their instructors to make up coursework; the instructors will accommodate such requests."
