Water Street Paving Project Set For Toms River
Veolia, the water company, said the paving to smooth out the road is the final step in the water main project.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you're tired of bouncing and bumping along Water Street in Toms River, there's good news: Veolia is set to pave the street next week.
There's also bad news: the paving will create some traffic disruptions at night.
The paving is the final stage of the water company's project replacing aging water mains in the area, said Jane Kunka, a spokeswoman for Veolia.

The paving is scheduled to begin Monday and last four to five days, weather permitting. The work is scheduled to be done from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, she said.
For Monday and Tuesday, the paving is expected to affect access to the Garden State Parkway ramp onto Water Street, along with disruptions to Highland Parkway north and south of Water Street and Water Street from Highland Parkway to Lien Street.

On Wednesday, the paving is anticipated to affect traffic access to Water Street from Lien Street to east of Main Street.
On Thursday, the access to Water Street east of Main Street to Dock Street will be affected.
The schedule is dependent on the weather.
Digital signs warning of closures have been posted near the Parkway, Kunka said, and there will be traffic control in place during the entire project.
