Fire Damages Toms River Home; No Injuries

Authorities said they were initially told people were trapped in the house, but the residents were out and safe when firefighters arrived.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at a home off Fischer Boulevard Monday evening, limiting the damage, officials said Tuesday.

There were no injuries to the residents or to any firefighters in the fire on Senaroth Court, which was reported at 7:32 p.m., officials said.

Toms River police received multiple calls saying people were trapped in the home, but Capt. Daniel Goresh of East Dover Fire Company and Toms River police were able to confirm everyone was safely out of the house, officials said.

The fire, in the garage and laundry room, was quickly extinguished by firefighters from East Dover. While crews were working, Chief Joe Catapano and District Chief Everett Seaman arrived on location to assist in operations. Island Heights firefighters also responded.

Due to the quick response of firefighters, the fire was contained to the garage and laundry room with no fire extension into the main house.

The fire is under investigation by the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention.
