FLOODING ALERT: Multiple Cars Stuck As Rains Inundate Ocean County

Emergency responders are reporting several cars have trapped in the water in several spots on the eastern end of Route 37.

The torrential downpours that have occurred in the last two hours in Ocean County have caused flooding on the eastern end of Route 37, according to scanner reports.

There are at least a half a dozen cars stuck in jughandles, with rescue personnel on the way to assist drivers, according to the reports.

Emergency responders are reporting a lot of water on the roads, with Garfield Avenue, Fischer Boulevard and Harding Avenue and Coolidge Avenue all mentioned.

Drivers should remember to avoid driving on any water-covered roadway because the depth of the water can be deceiving and dangerous.
