Former Seaside Heights Special Officer Indicted On Child Porn Charges: Prosecutor
He was arrested in June 2015 and fired from his Seaside Heights position shortly after his arrest, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A former Seaside Heights special police officer has been indicted on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography, the prosecutor's office said Wednesday.
Kevin Meier, 23, of Seaside Heights, was indicted Tuesday on one count of possession and one count of distribution of child pornography, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Seaside Heights Chief Thomas Boyd announced.
Meier was arrested in June 2015 in the case, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office. He was employed as a Seaside Heights special police officer at the time of his arrest, Della Fave said, and was immediately terminated from his employment as a result of the charges.

Meier was identified after the prosecutor’s office's High Tech Crime Unit and Seaside Heights police began investigating a referral from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children through the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that said a person within the jurisdiction of Ocean County was distributing suspected child pornography over the internet. The county's High Tech Crime Unit is a member of the state police Crimes Against Children task force, Della Fave said.
On June 17, 2015, a search warrant at Meier's Sheridan Avenue residence, which had been identified as the source of the images, and evidence supporting the charges was uncovered during the search, Della Fave said.

Meier’s bail at that time was set at $50,000, no 10 percent, by Judge Paul Gluck, Della Fave said. He was incarcerated for a time in the Ocean County Jail, however, Meier is presently released on bail, he said.
