When an overdose occurs first responders often use naloxone (Narcan), a life-saving nasal spray that counters the effects of opioids and reverses an overdose. During the sessions, credentialed counselors and licensed nurses will educate attendees how to administer Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose.

Attendees will also receive hands-on practice of rescue breathing and naloxone administration. Free naloxone kits will be available for attendees. Registration in advance is required to attend. Those interested in attending the Aug. 28 session must register by Aug. 27, and those interested in attending the Sept. 25 session must register by Sept. 21. To register, contact Michael Capko at (732) 886-4841 or at michael.capko@rwjbh.org.
