Garbage, Recycling Pickups Altered Next Week In Toms River

Election Day and Veterans' Day are disrupting the normal schedules, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River officials announced some closures and changes to the garbage and recycling schedule for next week in the township.

Township officials said the Department of Public Works offices — and only the offices — will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, and on Veterans' Day, Friday, Nov. 11.

Garbage and recycling will be picked up as normal on Election Day.

On Veterans' Day, there will be no garbage collection; residents with Friday garbage collection will have their trash picked up on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The Recycling Convenience Center also will be closed on Veterans' Day, and there will be no extra recycling pickups next week because of the holiday and Election Day.
