Grunin's Fitness Challenge Aims To Help TR School Health Programs

The philanthropist is offering to match donations made while he tries to promote wellness and get fit at the same time.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Jeremy Grunin is known for his philanthropic endeavors throughout Toms River, offering donation challenges to help raise funds for a variety of causes.

Grunin, the president of the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation, is starting a new challege next week, one that challenges himself as well as challenges donors, as he takes part in the Extraordinary Fitness 10-Week Challenge.

The Extraordinary Fitness 10-Week Challenge offers participants the chance to win $10,000 while getting in shape. However, Grunin is turning that challenge into a fundraiser for the Toms River Regional School District’s health programs and an opportunity to help promote health and wellness in the community.

Grunin will be teaming up with community leaders including Joe Palmisano, owner of Four Seasons Diner in Toms River; Steven Green, president of Green Label Title; Dr. Adam Repole of Ocean Gynecologic and Obstetrical Associates; Joe Nardini, owner of Gilligan & Nardini Electric and vice president of the Toms River Regional school board; and Dr. Ron Rotem of Rotem Dental Care, along with the help of Rudy Rosa, owner of Extraordinary Fitness.

The Extraordinary Fitness 10-Week Challenge includes working out at least four hours a week and following a healthy nutrition program guided by a nutritionist and with support from a life coach.

Grunin has pledged to match any donations up to $20,000 during the 10-week challenge to donate to the Toms River schools' health programs.

"I have decided to join forces with Extraordinary Fitness in Toms River to focus on something that is extremely important to the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation – building a healthier community all while supporting education here in Toms River," Grunin said. "I look forward to improving my own health and getting the community involved to raise much-needed funds for the Toms River Schools."

The challenge starts Monday, Sept. 10. Donations can be made via a GoFundme campaign Grunin has set up. The Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation will pay all the associated GoFundme fees so the entire donation amount goes to the Toms River schools, the foundation said.
