Here's Your Weather For New Year's Eve/New Year's Day, New Jersey

Last year at this time we were bracing for a blizzard. What does this New Year's have in store?

Last New Year’s Eve we were gearing up for what turned out to be the first in a long line of snow storms in New Jersey -- including the storm on Jan. 3 that shuttered schools across the state after one day back from winter break.

That won’t be the case this year.

Several weather sites -- Accuweather.com, WeatherUnderground and the National Weather Service -- all are predicting clear skies throughout the region until Friday evening, when clouds are supposed to move in.

It is, however, going to get very chilly. High temperatures on New Year’s Eve will be in the mid-30s and will drop into the teens overnight -- meaning you will definitely need a warm coat if you’re going out to celebrate on New Year’s Eve. If you’re headed to Times Square for the festivities there, definitely bundle up, especially your fingers and toes, because it will be only slightly warmer in the city.

On New Year’s Day, the high temperatures will struggle to reach 40 degrees but the skies will remain clear -- meaning you can pack up those Christmas decorations without having to brush off the snow.
