TOMS RIVER, NJ — Students, teachers and coaches from Toms River High School North and Central Regional will take the basketball court against members of the Toms River police and fire departments Friday night to raise funds for a Manchester teen who was seriously injured in a car accident last fall.

The event, titled Heroes for Hannah, is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Pine Belt Arena on the campus of Toms River North, Old Freehold Road and Bay Avenue in Toms River.

The game aims to help with medical expenses incurred by the family of Hannah Donner, a senior at Central Regional; Hannah, a volleyball player, suffered near-fatal injuries in the Sept. 23 crash. Authorities believe she fell asleep at the wheel before her car left the road and hit a tree shortly before 11 p.m. as she returned home from a meal with friends at the Sand Castle Diner in Beachwood.
