Holy Grail Hair Care: December 2013

Each month I plan to make a "Holy Grail Hair Care" post. In these posts you will find my must-have hair items of the month. I usually never change my hair care routine so I am sure they will not vary by much. I am licensed in cosmetology and do work in a salon, so I will try include items I know customers are raving about!

This month, however, is all about me and my Holy Grail Hair Care!

Shower:

1. RedKen Color Care Shampoo or Paul Mitchell Shampoo Three (I wash my hair 3-4 times a week only using the Paul Mitchell once a week to rid of oil and product build up) - Shampoo should mainly be focused on the scalp and hair roots and the remaining amount can be distrubuted through the ends ... also, I do use the RedKen Color Care on hair that is not color treated.
2. RedKen Color Care Conditioner - This is applied about mid-shaft to ends... keep conditioner away from the roots, this can cause an oily appearance to the hair
3. It's A 10 Miracle Hair Mask - This is a deep conditioner and should be used once a week... it's a good idea to use this after a clarifier and focus this mask from mid-shaft to ends of the hair

After Shower:

4. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment - I apply this to my damp hair, mid-hair shaft to ends, after I wash and condition it
5. It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner - After distributing the Macadamia Oil, I spray this from mid-hair shaft to ends

Styling:

5. CHI Iron Guard - This is a heat protector for the hair
6. It's A 10 Dry Oil Spray - When my hair appears dull I use this from mid-shaft to ends ... it smells wonderful and adds shine
7. TIGI Dry Shampoo - I only wash my hair 3-4 times a week, as previously stated, so when my roots start to appear shiny, I use this dry shampoo which soaks up the excess oils
8. Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play - I use this hairspray to hold in my style; however it does have a tendency to feel crunchy if you spray too close or use too much

The haircare items mentioned in today's post can be purchased at varying locations such as JCPenney Salons, Brick Beauty Supply, Sally's Beauty Supply, and other licensed retailers. The prices vary between $7.00-$40.00.
