Jailbirds Wanted ... For Ocean Of Love Fundraiser
The Ocean County-based organization assists families of children who are fighting cancer.

Ocean of Love, the Ocean County-based charity that assists families of children fighting cancer, is gearing up for its annual Jail-a-thon.
The CMS Jail-a-thon raises money through direct donations and through the "bail money" raised by jailbirds. Last year some of the celebrity jailbirds included Toms River Police Chief Mitchell Little, Toms River Fire Chief John Mount from Toms River Fire Company 1, DJ Andy Chase from 105.7 The Hawk and Matt Ryan from 94.3 The Point.
The Jail-a-Thon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Ocean County Mall.

Volunteer jailbirds are asked to raise a minimum of $500 in "bail." The Jail-a-thon also is seeking donations of coupons, gift baskets or other items to bolster the event.
Last year the event raised more than $25,000, organizers said.
