Jersey Shore Beach Report: Air Clearing, Sunny Skies Ahead
Heading to the Shore this weekend? Here's the forecast for beachgoers for June 9-11.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ — Summer is just around the corner now, with the last days of school coming up and vacations coming that are eagerly awaited. This weekend should be a nice opportunity to enjoy a taste of what's to come, especially at the beach.
Here's Patch's look at the weekend beach conditions for June 9-11, 2023.
The good news is the air quality issues that have plagued the area for several days are anticipated to be gone, as the plume of smoke from the Canadian wildfires is expected to clear out. That will contribute to clear, sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Temperatures are predicted to be a smidge chilly with some light breezes.

The weather service says there is a low risk of rip currents Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but even with a low risk, swimmers are urged to only swim where lifeguards are present. Water temperatures remain cold, in the low 60s, and cold water can cause swimmers to tire quickly and it increases risk of hypothermia. Read more from the National Weather Service on cold-water risks.
The UV index is very high for the weekend, the weather service says, so use your sunscreen.
