Joint Base Warns Of Marine Artillery Training This Weekend
Brick residents may be able to hear the training, as Joint Base McGuire-DIx-Lakehurst officials said the noise will be considerable.

Brick Township residents may hear rumbling this weekend that isn’t related to the ongoing Garden State Parkway construction: U.S. Marines will be conducting artillery training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, officials told NJ.com.
Training is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and can occur between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., base officials said. The noise will be considerable, and with forecasts calling for cloudy skies and rain or snow, it’s possible the noise will travel farther, officials said.
Base officials also said they try work hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and are committed to remaining good neighbors.
