Nor'easter Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In Ocean County
Toms River, Brick, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Barnegat, Berkeley and Lacey all were affected; school activities were canceled.

Scattered power outages remained Tuesday morning on the tail end of a massive nor'easter with strong winds that knocked out power to as many as 10,000 people in Ocean County Monday, according to power company officials.
The Jersey Central Power & Light outage map showed more than 4,200 customers affected at one point, with new outages popping up as the company restored power to others. Most of the outages were localized, with 20 or fewer customers affected, but there were a few affecting larger areas, including one that cut off power to more than 1,500 customers on the Lakewood-Jackson border.
Between 100 and 500 homes in the Baywood section of Brick Township were without power, as were a similar number in the East Dover section of Toms River.
