Man Who Fled Toms River Drug Investigation Still Being Sought

Jeffrey Livingston also is suspected of calling in a gun threat to the Ocean County Mall, police said.

Authorities are still searching for a Manchester man who ran into some woods Tuesday afternoon while Toms River police were conducting a drug investigation during a motor vehicle stop.

Jeffrey Livingston, 22, of Edinburgh Lane in Manchester, is described as a black male, about 6-foot-4 and weighing 180 pounds. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and black shorts when last seen, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.

Livingston, who was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the woods near Whittier Avenue and Washington Street in Toms River, Stocco said Tuesday.

During the search Tuesday afternoon, a gun threat was called into the Ocean County Mall, Stocco said. Authorities believe Livingston made the call from his cell phone in an effort to divert attention, Stocco said.
