Support Groups Presented by Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus

Caregivers Support Group
Tuesdays, May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from Noon to 2 p.m.
AND Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.
Sponsored by Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus and the Ocean County Office of Senior Services, this ongoing weekly support group is open to anyone who is caring for a person age 60 or older living in Ocean County. Facilitated by Kathleen Holahan, MSW, LCSW, this group is held at the Center for Healthy Living located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group
Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Offered by Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, this free ongoing support group helps participants learn and share with others facing the unique challenges of being a “grandfamily.” Facilitated by Kathleen Holahan, MSW, LCSW, this group is held at the Center for Healthy Living located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. 6-Week Tobacco Quit Program
Thursdays, May 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
If you are thinking about quitting or are ready to quit, Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention will give you the tools and support you need to succeed. Participants in the Tobacco Quit Program will receive the following: treatment with certified tobacco specialist; a quit smoking plan to meet their individual needs; ongoing individual, group and/or family counseling; up-to-date information about the latest prescription and over-the-counter smoking cessation medications including Zyban, Chantix and the Nicotine Patch, Gum, Inhaler, and nasal spray; effective tools to reduce withdrawal symptoms; weight and stress management strategies. This program will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus in Conference Rooms D & E at 600 River Avenue in Lakewood. The cost is $25 per session (if paid in full on first night, the total is $125). Registration is required by calling 732.914.3815.

Bereavement Support
Tuesdays, May 10 and 24 from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.
Learn what to expect in the grieving process as well as how to deal with your expectations and the expectations of others in this Bereavement Support group, sponsored by Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus and the Ocean County Office of Senior Services. Facilitated by Kathleen Holahan, MSW, LCSW, this group is held at the Center for Healthy Living located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood.
