More than 4,000 Jobs Coming To New Jersey: Here's Where

Big hirings are coming to New Jersey, with more than 4,000 jobs coming. Find out where and how to apply.

There is hope for the unemployed of New Jersey. More than 4,000 jobs are coming to New Jersey, and the companies are offering opportunities to people with a variety of skill levels in locations throughout the state.

And if you can't get to these jobs by car, you can probably get there by train. Some will be within walking distance to a train station.

HOME DEPOT: The company plans to hire 1,650 part-time and seasonal workers in New Jersey within the coming weeks, the company announced Thursday. You can search for some of these jobs and find how to apply to them by clicking here.

They include customer service and sales, lot associates, freight and receiving, store support and cashier positions, according to a company press release. The company's Merchandising Execution Team – responsible for setting merchandising displays and ensuring products are customer-ready – also is hiring this spring.

Part-time and full-time permanent hourly associates at The Home Depot qualify for profit sharing, tuition assistance, 401k and a discounted stock purchase plan. Plus, all Home Depot associates have access to exclusive deals on cell phones, electronics, gym memberships and more through the company's associate discount site, according to the company.

CASINOS: There are about 830 full- and part-time positions available at Atlantic City casinos — a potential rebound after the industry shed more than 10,000 jobs since 2014, according to The Press of Atlantic City. Indeed, there are currently approximately 518 full-time jobs available at casinos in Atlantic City, Matthew Levinson, chairman and chief executive officer for the Casino Control Commission, told the newspaper.

Caesars Entertainment is hiring for more than 500 positions across all facets of the business at the casinos it owns in Atlantic City, which include Bally’s Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah’s Resort, Noel Stevenson, a spokesman for Caesars, told the newspapers.

Some are food and beverage jobs related to some new restaurants at Harrah’s, including the AC Burger Company, the Mexican/Spanish restaurant Veracruz and Coastal Craft in March, according to the report.

AMAZON: The company plans to hire 2,500 people in New Jersey over the next 16 months as part of a nationwide expansion of 100,000 jobs. You can search for some of these jobs and find out how to apply to them by clicking here.

These will be full-time, full-benefit jobs for people with all types of experience, education and skill levels, from engineers and software developers to those seeking entry-level positions and on-the-job training, the company said in a statement. Many of the roles will be in new fulfillment centers that have been announced over the past several months and are under construction in Texas, California, Florida, New Jersey and many other states across the country.

Also, at least one company is moving jobs from one city to the next:

BROADRIDGE FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS: The company has signed a lease to open a Newark office that the company says will bring 1,000 jobs from Jersey City. The financial services firm signed for 160,000 square feet of Class A office space at 2 Gateway Center, according to commercial real estate firm C&K Properties. “We’re excited to welcome one of the most highly respected financial services firms in the world to the blossoming business community at 2 Gateway,” Ben Korman, co-founder and principal of C&K Properties, told NJBIZ. “This lease represents a major milestone not just for our building, but for Newark at large, with the addition of approximately 1,000 high-quality jobs to the market.”

Broadridge, which is based in Lake Success, New York, has offices in Jersey City, Marlton, Mount Laurel, Secaucus and Teaneck. The 2 Gateway Center building is located within walking distance of Newark Penn Station, NJBIZ noted.
