New Farmers Market Springs Up In Toms River

The new market offers an option for those unable to get downtown.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Can't get enough of farmers' markets? Can't get to the one downtown on Wednesdays? There's a new one open in town, organizers said.

The AG Farmers' Market will be open every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Abundant Grace Church, 108 Indian Head Road. in Toms River.

The new market offers fresh, local seasonal fruits and vegetables, breads, cakes, pies and other specialty items. Vendors include regional purveyors such as Colony Market, High Mountain Foods, Jersey Charm, A&A Dips, Wicked Good Spice Mixes, Sweet Obsessions, Krowickis Farm Market, Green Beret Spray and more.

"Farmers' markets are a great way to support the local economy," organizer William Bintliff said. "More importantly, they offer a wonderful source of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as artisan foods like breads, cheeses, jams, sauces and much, much more."
