New QuickChek In Toms River Sets Grand Opening For Halloween
The store is similar to one in Brick that opened earlier this month.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — In its ongoing turf battle with Wawa for convenience store dominance, Quick Chek is opening its second "fresh look" QuickChek on Halloween in Toms River.
The store, at the corner of Fischer Boulevard and Route 37 East, will be similar to the new store opened in Brick earlier this month.
The nearly 5,500-square-foot store, which opens formally on Tuesday, Oct. 31, will include some of the traditional items QuickChek offers, including its freshly made soups, its grab-and-go food and grocery items, and its subs, sandwiches and breakfast items.

It also is designed to appeal to those customers looking to sit down and relax for a few moments while they eat: indoor seating counters offer 10 seats where people can charge their phones and laptops, and free WiFi to get online and be productive if they're on the go. There are no-fee ATMs in the store, outdoor seating and 18 fueling stations, and the store will be open 24 hours a day.
The grand opening also will include a fundraiser for the Toms River East Little League, donating 25 cents for every sub, sandwich and wrap sold in the store from Oct. 31 through Nov. 26, company officials said.

In addition, Grand Opening promotions include free large QuickChek hot coffee offered to all patrons from Oct. 31 through Nov. 12. Their in-store smoothies and specialty drinks are $1.99 and empanadas are 2 for $3 also from Oct. 31 through Nov. 12, and all 6-inch QuickChek subs are $3 for a limited time.
The Whitehouse Station-based chain opened a similar store in Brick on Oct. 10.
“We feel this new design provides a better showcase for our high-quality, great tasting fresh food and beverage menu items throughout our new stores as we continue to meet the ever-changing shopping and dining habits of today’s consumer,” QuickChek CEO Dean Durling said in a news release.
The new Toms River store creates 50 new local jobs, including eight management positions, company officials said.
