Ocean Ride Driver Injured In Route 37 Crash In Toms River
Toms River police said a teen from Burlington County ran a red light before hitting the bus.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Ocean Ride bus driver was injured Monday in a Route 37 crash where another driver ran a red light, Toms River police said.
There were no passengers on the Ocean Ride bus when the crash happened about 3 p.m. Monday, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
The Ocean Ride bus was headed north on Fischer Boulevard and as it was crossing Route 37, it was hit by a vehicle that was westbound on Route 37, Messina said.

The investigation found the driver, a 17-year-old boy from Marlton, failed to stop for the red traffic signal, she said. The teen received a ticket for failure to obey a traffic signal, she said.
Traffic Safety Officer Cpl. Robert Westfall is investigating the crash.
