Open House, Dedication Set For Toms River Fire Academy Training Facility

The new training/burn building will be dedicated this weekend.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Fire Academy is holding an open house this weekend to show off its new training building and let the public see what firefighters are learning that will be put into practice protecting their homes and businesses, officials announced.

The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the academy, 1780 Church Road, includes dedication of the training building, which was recently completed.

"The residents of Toms River Township came out and supported our referendum to purchase and erect a new training building with several burn rooms and numerous other training areas," organizers said. "The academy would like to show appreciation for the building and show off some of the training that is being done."
