PA Man Ordered Held In Seaside Heights Motel Shooting

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Pennsylvania man will remain in the Ocean County Jail in the shooting of his roommate at a Seaside Heights motel, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
Jose Serrano-Robles, 43, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was ordered held by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan in the Aug. 16 shooting at the La Fontana Motel on Grant Avenue in Seaside Heights, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Seaside Heights police officers found a 51-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, and he was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and was listed in stable condition, Billhimer said. Investigators determined the man and Serrano-Robles had been sharing the room.

Serrano-Robles was arrested the same day at the Toms River bus station and was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and being a certain person not to possess weapons, Billhimer said.
Billhimer did not release any additional details on the case.

Serrano-Robles has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest, Billhimer said. The detention hearing was handled by Assistant Prosecutor Lynn Juan.
