Retired Teachers Invited To Join Educators' Group

The Ocean County Retired Educators Association offers member trips, aids students and more.

If you’re a teacher who has retired, the Ocean County Retired Educators Association wants you to join them.

The group has scheduled luncheons that offer information sessions on governmental issues as well as health benefits, according to a news release from the organization.

OCREA initiated a project last year to aid Operation Feed Ocean County: Members bring donations of food and other special needed items to our luncheons where an Ocean County Hunger Relief truck collects them.

OCREA also has scheduled trips which are opened to our members and their families. A guided tour of Yankee Stadium, Bronx Botanical Gardens Tram Tour and E.A. Conservatory with lunch at Mario’s is planned for April 27, 2016. Then May 23-June 7, OCREA travels to Britain and Ireland. In June, Mystic Seaport is the destination.

OCREA also has awarded two scholarships to deserving local high school seniors. Due to members’ generosity, we are able to award a third scholarship to a 2016 senior. Our OCREA Newsletter - Wavelet - keeps members active, informed and involved in association’s activities. So please join!
