Delays On Route 37 In Toms River After Crash: Authorities

The accident happened about 7 a.m.; authorities urge motorists to avoid the area if possible.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Police are asking motorists to avoid the area of Route 37 at Clifton Avenue following a motor vehicle accident Friday morning.

The Ocean County Sheriff's office said one lane is open eastbound between Clifton Avenue and Peter Street as authorities continue to investigate the crash. It initially closed both eastbound lanes.

The accident happened sometime around 7 a.m. and as of 9:15 a.m. Route 37 remains closed in the area, the sheriff's office said.
