Seaside Semper Five 5K Set To Hit The Boards In Seaside Heights
The annual 5K raises funds for retired Marines, and for the families of Marines killed while serving for the United States.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — The annual Seaside Semper Five 5K Run/Walk and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk returns to the boardwalk on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Registration for the event, which benefits the Marine Raider Foundation, will run from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Beachcomber, at 100 Ocean Terrace. The entry fee is $55.
The race is a fundraiser for the MARSOC Foundation, which assists active duty and medically retired MARSOC (U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command) personnel and their families as well as to the families of Marines and sailors who have lost their lives in service to the United States.

The event was canceled in 2016 when a pipe bomb exploded in a garbage can along the race route.

The event includes a 1-mile fun run that starts at 9 a.m. The 5K run/walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 1-mile races. Awards will also be presented to the top three finalists in each age group. Age groups for the 5K race include 10 and under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
