Seven Toms River Football Players Headed To Showcase Game

The players from all four Toms River high schools will be playing oin New Year's Eve.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Seven athletes from Toms River will be spending New Year's Eve playing football, after they were among 30 players chosen to represent the U.S. at the All-American Diamond game in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The All-American Diamond game will feature 70 of the nation's top athletes in ninth grade on a pair of 35-player rosters, according to the Diamond Sports website.

Diamond All-American Bowl Week is a showcase for youth and high school athletes that deserve an avenue to shine, the website says.

The Toms River players participating are tight end Christ Aldrich, quarterback Ryan Clark, and offensive lineman Mason McCue from Donovan Catholic; wide receiver Dominick Jacobs and fullback/linebacker Chris "CJ" Niedzielski of Toms River North; wide receiver Daniel Nichols of Toms River East, and linebacker Joseph Capriglione of Toms River South.

Additionally, Central Regional defensive lineman Nicholas Rosa and Robert Kelly, an offensive lineman from Middletown North, are playing in the game, according to a news release.

The game will be played at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is their chance to shine and get recognition from coaches and recruiters from all over the country in our live webstream game.

Diamond Sports Group produces youth All-American games that expose the unknown athlete and shed more light on the known athlete, the organization says.
