Mayor Daniel Rodrick says the township will spend the next three months evaluating internal candidates, planning interim leadership, and continuing to bolster patrol staffing to maintain public safety and long-term stability in the department.

Lidl Opening Location In Toms River, NJ (wpst.com) — Toms River residents can look forward to a new Lidl grocery store taking over the long-vacant former Foodtown space off Route 37 East, bringing another affordable shopping option to town. While there's no opening date yet, the signed lease means work can begin soon, finally putting the prominent property back to use and saving locals a trip to Brick or Lanoka Harbor.
   

3. Wawa shooter's getaway driver identified pal in gunman's escape, lawyer says (pressofatlanticcity.com) — A detention hearing in Toms River shed new light on the search for suspected killer Douglas Cobb, a 51-year-old township resident wanted in the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Bruce Gress outside the Route 37 Wawa. Defense attorneys say a Lakewood woman, accused of helping Cobb flee, blamed a close friend for pressuring her, raising questions about who really aided the gunman's escape.
