Smarty-Pants Boot Camp LLC: An Educational STEM Camp Geared Toward Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, & Second Grade Children

Smarty-Pants Boot Camp LLC is the brain child of two Howell Township teachers & Toms River residents, Jennifer Bennett and Megan Meyer. They have over 30 years of teaching experience combined in the primary grades, Master Degrees in Education, & Jennifer is a certified Reading Specialist.

Heading into their second summer, Smarty-Pants Boot Camp LLC in Toms River, is providing an enrichment experience in language arts, math, & STEM for 4-7 year old children. "After over 30 years of experience we have seen the definite need for foundational review during the summer months. Our goal is to have the children ready to meet the demands of their upcoming curriculum. We also saw a need to provide children of this particular age group the opportunity to be involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) challenges while continuing to focus on developmentally appropriate academic skills for each particular age group. Instruction is differentiated for children based on their individual academic abilities, children are engaged in hands-on learning experience & activities. At Smarty-Pants Boot Camp, we believe it is important to expose children to weekly STEM challenges that encourage children to think outside the box, work together with their peers to problem solve, & incorporate the new 21st century science standards. While children are young, open minded, & see infinite avenues, they are able to solve design challenges in ways older children & adults are unable see. This is an ideal age for making creativity and imagination part of their foundation."
