Come in out of the cold and enjoy three great musical programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library this February, located at 101 Washington Street.
Critically acclaimed jazz guitarist, composer and educator Brian Betz will perform American standards and original compositions on at 1pm on Saturday, February 8th. Mr. Betz is a two-time winner of the Betty Carter International Jazz Competition and is currently on the faculty at Rowan University where he teaches jazz guitar and jazz improvisation and gives concerts, clinics, and master classes all over the USA.
Dynamic vocalist Jared Martin will provide an evening of romantic standards at 7pm on Wednesday, February 12th. Asian Journal hails Martin’s electrifying stage presence, calling him a promising world-class tenor with exceptionally rich vocal texture coupled with a warm quality and bright timber.

Local bluesman Derek Pierre will entertain and educate us at the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Toms River area NAACP at 12pm on Saturday, February 22nd. Come to sample delicious soul food provided by the members of the NAACP and stay for a lesson on the rich tradition of the blues in African American history.
